Audiovisual
For musicians, labels, and also for people linked to cinema, and for the culture…
It would be interesting in what touches music, and specially for British music industry, to have a place like Bandcamp or Amazon where people could pay to download lps or eps, songs or others, from today and from the past.
For movies or film or shortfilm in Europe as in the US, we have Youtube, but it would be interesting to have some place in the Web where we could pay to download film from today and from the past. And to search.
With music today we tend to forget the album, the lp, the ep, listening what is in a pen on one hand, to listen some songs from the different musicians on Soundcloud or to read lp or album covers when listening music on Youtube, or using bluetooth to listen to what we want in Spotify or Youtube.
In spite people can afford to pay monthly to Spotify or Youtube, they cannot keep their music, the same in Soundcloud.
On the other hand, musicians are continuously stolen on the internet and tend to depend on gigs.
Bandcamp is a very interesting place to pay and download music. It is difficult to search there.
And we can not find what we find on Amazon, or anything older than 20 years, and the feed lasts 6 months, or so.
In Amazon we can pay to download or buy music. And we could use bitcoin.
In FNAC we can buy music but we can not download.
I have to correct the name of the portuguese place in the Web for film, MEMORIALE, as long as i’m concerned I would like to see Maria from João Mário Grilo, the films from Edgar Pêra, or short films, linked either to Cinanima or Vila do Conde or others. Or to search.
A bit for cinema critics and a bit for music critics, you should have some opinion space in Soundcloud or Bandcamp.
Sound, image and text make the Web. We could use them together or not, with more or less space.
It will be always some ways of taping music on the Web, but now it is difficult even paying to download music, such as Tangerine Dream or Jay Jay Johanson first albums or Kruder and Dorfmeister firsts for instance.
On film it is even harder besides Youtube.
Musicians tend to depend on gigs, and film and short film on tv, are usually linked to the rest of the programm grid.
I can not understand why we should pay an extra for the art channel arte, or because it only broadcasts at night.
In what regards portuguese cable tv, music channels are ok.
Today I bought the portuguese newspaper Público, and it is not like it used to be. I think, as my young brother that in spite of having a double College degree and a Master, he did not ever read a newspaper, people are not used to buy newspapers anymore at least on paper, what about Britains?
And it goes to politics either, why should television be the place to find the politico, politicians and politics, why not a place in the Web? Besides online press, radio and tv as long as web blogs.
Anyway, right now British music industry as long as european and world cinema industry should simply have a place in the Web where to search, advice, and to pay to download music and film.
